I have noticed in the past week, maybe two weeks that when I do a Search, the results that come up are completely different than it has ever been in the past and wonder if there is something wrong with my format b/c I've accidentally clicked on something that has changed the results for a Search.

After typing in an item under Search, you then went to a page with some choices:
    - whether to list results by date (convenient if you want to find something recent), or buy another method that I can't recall since I always did the date.
    - if you wanted to narrow your search to a particular person(s)
    - which thread topic you wanted to search under (Classifieds, or General or many others), or you could search all threads
    - there was another choice that I can't recall

Now, when I do a Search, I get nothing of that format, but something very different an not as specific in results.

For example, if I did a Search: Taurus 856
    I would get this:

Search results for query: Taurus 856

      .22LR Range Fun

I had purchased a Picatinny Rail for my Taurus TX Competition 5" so I could put a red dot on it to see whether it really is a "Competition" pistol! :rockwoot: But, the red dot I used was too long by 1/16" & I have to switch it out with another red dot so the slide can properly close. :ugh: I...

      Pistol Optics, or NOT?

I have one and love it. It is my primary pistol that I shoot. I have a dot on it. Had the slide milled by DP Custom Works a few years ago. Recently added the Apex Forward Set Trigger to it. I will continue to shoot it unless 9 mm gets too pricey for me. I recently bought a Taurus TX22...

      Taurus 738 TCP 380?

There is a podcast called "By the Horns" by Taurus Shooters KC Eucebio, and Jessie Harrison, they interviewed the current CEO of Taurus, he addressed this problem with guns returned for repairs, he said they had problems, but have worked hard to fix them, and worked hard to repair the brand. Taurus...I don't know a single individual, personally, who's ever owned one who hasn't had to send it in for repairs! Taurus 738 TCP 380?

A friend of mine has had one for years, he's shot it a lot and hasn't had any problems with his. IIRC he bought his when they first came out or close to it. Edit: I made fun of him when he bought it, I've since ate my words.

      Taurus 738 TCP 380?

Mine is unfired, so hopefully it's not that bad. LOL. He bought it about seven years ago, put it in a drawer and left it there. I didn't expect it to be that good of a gun. I would have given him the money, but he insisted that I take it. I guess I'll get it to the range sometime and see if it...

      Taurus 738 TCP 380?

Had one that wouldn't feed more than 3 consecutive rounds without problems. Sent it back to Taurus. They deemed it "unrepairable", without describing the problem, and sent me a brand new one for replacement. I sold it unfired.

      Taurus 738 TCP 380?

I just bought a Taurus 738 TCP from a friend that needed some money. I know they don't have a great reputation, but I was wondering if anyone has had some experience with them and what you thought of them?

Wildcat Rimfire Falling Steel - Next Match Sunday November 6th, 2022

Thanks Mick. Gives me another 6 months or so to practice. Plus I just bought a Taurus TX22 Competition. Should be a good candidate for this style of shooting.

Taurus M85 that I purchased new. It's in great shape. It's a matte silver finish that I'm not sure what it is. Only been fired a few times. I did bob the hammer. I am looking for a new enhanced search.

Threadloom, an addon, was purchased by Vertical Scope. They then closed it down along with our newsletter system from Threadloom. I will have something better soon I hope.
    Thanks for the quick response!
I thought something might be in the process of changing.

    I wondered.

I like to post to the defense of gun use thread, and I used to just search one “DGU” and it brought numerous threads including the one I needed.. Now when I do that it brings up absolutely no results whatsoever. I’ve had a couple of those shirts and shoes that we used to use on a regular basis now bring up no results at all. A little while ago I tried searching” funny pic” and it brought up all kinds of threads that had nothing to do with funny pictures. I had to fill out “pictures” Geto get anything useful.

I think the new search is by default sorted by newest to oldest? I haven't used the new search a lot, but the old search always took a few more click and waits to get to sorting by date. I prefer to search by date, newest to oldest. :twocents:

what it’s doing now does not allow me to find posts that I know are there.
If I want to find out what a certain gun sold for by a dozen different people, a person cannot do it the way it’s set up now.
You could click by the date and then the fact that you wanted the classifieds and then the particular part of Classifieds and you would get sometimes pages of what a gun sold for even if those in the past few months or year were applicable

You and I a searching for differerent things, for differerent reasons.

You have a great point though. I'd like to search for the same thing you are talking about, but never have because the search function has always given bad results.

You are searching to research pricing (as I would like to do also.) I am searching to pass along new info that I have run into, which might benefit INGOers, without starting dupe threads.
