    You can see thousands at the DNR site in Pulaski County. There is an elevate viewing stand. There are a few mounted binoculars. They are free. Bring your own binoculars, scopes, and/or camera. Last week's count was over 6000. It usually peaks around 28,000 in late November, early December. My wife and I have been there a couple of times this season. There was also a herd of about 16 deer in the same field with them when we were there.

    Just had three waves of cranes fly overhead...what a ruckus!
    Rough count 160 birds..the third wave stopped heading south and made two complete 360 circles then headed to Dixie. I thought that was strange.
    Maybe rearranging which birds are in the lead, taking the brunt of the headwind?

    Yep. Some here headed south on the SW side of Indy around 3:15. LOTS of them. I think it took them over 5 minutes for all of the waves to fly past. I love their sound.
