You usually can't go wrong with the 686, pretty solid guns.Awesome looking firearm, and sure you will get your enjoyment from owning it. I had an early model in 80's also. No issues and carried during a stint of Armed Security. Again, congrats!

I would like to see the pics of the sight if you get it done. I have a Mod 13 I would love to get a front sight put on. It's not a big ramp like yours, but I've seen a small dot put on them.Thanks, final step will be to machine off that front sight and put in a black dovetail sight.
