Remember Clinton I believe said if they gave up their nukes we would support them if Russia attacked. So in a sense we are living up to our word which is strange considering we haven't done so in a long time.
Someone smells a huge amount of money to be gleaned from our involvement.

    These people are completely psychotic.

Russia isn't invading the US, there's no need to push escalation this far over the second most corrupt country in the world.

Welcome to what most people over 45ish lived with.

Its how you deal with and neutralize a threat to use or deploy Nuclear Weapons.... the assurance that if you press the button, were gonna press ours and NO ONE WINS.

It sucks, it really does living under that threat, but.. its the way US leaders in the past dealt with it. It is the only way to deal with it.
It can be unsettling, IT IS UNSETTLING, the fact that just out of the blue you see the flash, and you know your arse is just immediately cooked.

MAD, Mutually Assured Destruction... sucks, but it is the only way. And so far it has worked, even if there have been some close calls.

Three gas pipe lines from Russia to Germany have failed in the last 24hrs.

It does look a bit like sabotage. I mean Nord2 was fully pressurized and ready to go just waiting. Now it is offline. At least it was not actively pumping when it occurred, but I doubt anyone has a reason to repair it at this point. Nord1 main line has been shut down awhile now without the turbines from Canada and Germany.

It is going to be a rough winter in Europe for sure. If we lose the LNG plants in the gulf it will be even more so. Loads of politics are happening though. China is for example selling LNG to Japan to fuel their power plants, of course China buys it from Russia but Japan does not seem to mind as long as they skate the thin line.

US, GB and RUSSIA were all in that deal...LOL...Russia invades. At this point Russia could use poison gas and nukes and Brandon will just use more sanctions....but who knows, he sure ain't running the country.

Why does he think the US would do this....? Sounds like good ole Russian crap breaking down.
Because the EU nations can not agree to put a price cap on it? They have been arguing for weeks about it. Now, well they do not need to as the option to buy it has been taken away and they will depend on mainly the USA,Canada, and Qatar for most of their LNG/NG at least this year.
Makes sense if you consider it a proxy and economic war.

See your point.....but Russia makes a lot of crap, probably hurried too fast and screwed it all up. They got history on that kind of stuff...but ya, blame US cause they will never admit a screw up on their part. "The nuclear plant did not blow up, everything is fine." lol

It could explain one line being down, but the other 2 were made in the EU by Germany. It is not like it was one line that failed, but multiple(the ones still in use after Nord1 shut down)and in addition nord2 being disabled before it could be used. I believe at this point only lines going to Turkey are still even functional?

Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said it was hard to imagine NS gas leaks were caused by a "coincidence."

Frederiksen didn't rule out sabotage, though she said it was too early to draw any conclusions, according to Reuters, quoting public broadcaster DR during a visit to Poland.

A German security official told Bloomberg that NS damage appears to be the result of "sabotage."

The evidence points to a violent act, rather than a technical issue, according to a German security official, who asked not to be identified because the matter is being probed. -Bloomberg
German daily newspaper Tagesspiegel reported that "the Nord Stream pipelines may have been damaged by targeted attacks and leaked as a result."

A source close to the government, quoted in the newspaper, said, "everything speaks against a coincidence."

"We cannot imagine a scenario that is not a targeted attack," the source said.

The EU would gain more control over the population and business. Then someone who has a great plan steps in as the great savior.
That makes a lot of sense.

I can only see two possible reasons for Russia to sabotage the pipelines. First, if Europe does start freezing and it pulls at the heart strings of the Russian people now Putin can say we would be happy to send them gas but the pipelines are disabled. Europe continues freezing and Putin/Russia are blameless. Second, they can blame the US for the sabotage and try to drive a wedge between the US and European alliance.

Three pipelines in 24 hours certainly isn't a coincidence. Kind of the like the food distribution center fires here.

I thought about that also but narrowed it down to who would gain the most from a suffering population. That would be the government that wants totalitarian control. This will also work to bring about those countries that just elected conservatives to leadership to bend to their will.

    .
I'll admit to knowing nothing about undersea gas pipelines. It would seem though that people capable of sabotaging something at the bottom of the ocean in secret and getting away maybe in a submarine would have to be in a major power navy.
