Picked one up a few weeks ago, seems like a solid build and same weight as my AR. Range report coming soon, still waiting on scope.

Does anyone know of a LGS that would have a SFAR in stock in/around Indy--most especially one with the 20" bbl?? I'd really love to get my hands on one and see how much trouble I'd be in for it following me home. :bacondance:

I don't understand why some AR company doesn't make a 308, 6.5 creedmoor, etc with a light weight barrel. Hunters do not need a heavy barrel. We shoot one maybe 2 shots so we don't need a heavy barrel.
Come out with a pencil barreled AR-10 I bet it would sell.

I've been looking at this, and a 10-12" lightweight rail combo.

That's what I'm doing for my 308 build but I'm going with the gunner profile since it's barely any extra weight, and still lighter than most anything else. 13.9 pin/welded with a Brigand Arms handguard.

Will be lighter than many peoples small frame uppers still.

Have you tried the Brigand Arms handguard? I have one, and I'm not a fan. It's diameter is too fat for my liking. The atlas s one is a few ounces more and much more comfortable.

I LOVE the Atlas S One on my AR that has it.

I'm going to build 2 uppers for this and am going to use the brigand on the extremely lightweight 'fun' upper and the S One on the "serious" upper.

I'm a huge, huge, huge fan of the S-One though.

I haven't tried the Brigand arms handguard yet but I have a Smoke Composites CF handguard that also is quite fat on an AR15 and I've gotten used to that. If the Brigand for a large frame is a lot bigger though I definitely won't like it most likely.

Like the Smith M&P-10? It has been a solid seller for Smith.

How did that escape me all these years. I guess I just figured all AR-10 came with the heavy barrels.
*shrugs* Not certain. NutNFancy was a fanboi years ago.

Chris had apparently been asking for one and the one that I sent down to Houston had been in the back of the safe for years as an E. Got a screaming deal on it and just never shot it.
