RIA 9mm 1911

Last week I had my LGS try to find a RIA tactical in 9mm, no luck on that none in stock anywhere.
I had him order a G.I. model in 9mm. The only difference I can find between the two are the beaver tail safety, ambi thumb safety, and the sights.
Anyone have the 9mm G.I. model ? How do you like it? It doesn't look like it will be to bad

It's the same platform - better sights (about $180 .oo to cut &install ) beaver tail G.S.& hammer will cost $100.00 . best idea is to wait and keep looking for what you want .It took me 10 mo. to find and get my RIA. C.S./ 9 mm tactical but the wait was worth it.

Plainfield shooting supplies had the rock island 1911 in 9mm on sat. they are closed till wed after CHRISTmas

I've heard good stuff you RIA too, good choice on the GI model.

I have the G.I. model and love it. I will say at first it had some problems with FTE. After a good cleaning and about 250 rounds it really came into it..I will say that I had a hard time finding shops in my area that had 1911 9mm mags. I had to order them..Good shooter and I would not think twice about carring my RIA..It is just alittle heavy for me to CC everyday.
