To my untrained eye from the pics it appears that the SK grouped really well for both rifles. Out of the pics it seemed that that brand really shot the best for you in both rifles.

Which did you use to shoot at the Seed?

I shot Wolf Match Extra. It was really a cointoss between the two, but it also shoots very well and it was a bit easier to get.

The only times I've ever experienced problems like that is when the ammo was really under powered (like CCI CB Longs) or when the gun wasn't lubed up well enough. One good tip is to polish most of the action parts so it moves easier and then just lube it up well.

I finally got around to polishing the bolt and internal parts. I dabbled with polishing the seer and hammer in a cheap attempt to drop the pull weight while I was at it. I didn't go too far though (fearing problems) and changed the pull weight little. I also used some dry graphite lube instead of oil.
Installed a wolf spring kit & a plastic buffer pin.

I did some test fires today and had GREAT results. 10 rds rapid fire with CCI and ZERO problems! Compared to about 3 in 10 previously. Winchester white box hollow points used to cause issues about 1 in 10 in rapid fire. Naturally shot without any issues as well.

In all put around 60 rds without a single issue (which would've resulted in about 2-3 ftf at a slow pace before)
Thanks for the tip, it got me researching polishing and lubing of my nice little plinker!

    Thank you

This was alot of work and I am sure you did this for your own thirst for knowledge, but I want to thank you for sharing it with us.

This kind of data empowers me to make good buying decisions.

Does anyone know of a store online that would sell a 50 count box at a reasonable price so you could buy several at once and try them all at one range session? I have about 7-8 I would like to try.

I decided to do some tests with Match .22 LR ammo a while ago. This test was done in 2 phases because I messed up the iron sights the first time. I used two different 10/22 rifles. The first one has a KIDD Barrel with all the Power Custom Trigger parts and a scope. The second rifle was a Stock 10/22 with an M1 Carbine stock kit on it. We also use a Chronograph for most of the shots when the sun was cooperating. As the evening went on some of the shots wouldn't register.

The Stock gun from here on out will be referred to as IRONS and the Custom one will be SCOPED.

I don't have some pics of targets I shot with the Iron sights because I was using the iron sights wrong and it skewed the results. So a few weeks later I went out and redid the test with most of the match ammo I had from 25yards out. All the Scoped targets are from 50 yards out. And I'll let you determine the best performing ones with the results below.

Here's some pics of our set up

And here are some of our results. There will be a lot of info and lots of pics, so I'll try to keep it readable.

I think for the money and the performance the SK Rifle Match was the best in my scoped rifle and the Wolf Match Extra was the best in my stock rifle.
SK Rifle match and the Aguila Target seems to agree with your scoped rifle.
If you get a chance try Eley Force see how it shoots for you at 50yds.

A few years back I bought a few cases of Aquila Pistol Match, I wish now I would have also bought a few cases of their Rifle Match or Target Competition.

You should start a thread on med and upper end 22LR ammo on sale?

I'm thinking about ordering a few bricks of the Aquila Target and see what results I get. Seems Grafs has it for $8.79 a box.
Other than a few cases years back of Eley Match ( $65.00 a brick? ) for the boys 4H and JROTC and a few single boxes I bought from Brian, it will be about the most expensive 22lr that I have ever bought.

How about people give imput on what 22lr ammunition they use and want to see prices for so I can target those. I can use the information from this thread and the one I started awhile back. Then if others could chime in on what they would like to see. That would be helpful.

    Here is my old thread.

I was trying to get out of work, and get you to do the work.

I would be interested in the results that others have gotten with rim-fire costing say $5.00 a box of 50 and up from there.

We shoot mostly the first two,
    Federal Auto Match
    Federal Champion 710 or 720??

Federal GM Match standard and High Velocity.
    Agulia Pistol Match
    Agulia Super Extra
    CCI Standard Vel
    CCI green box

    Thanks!!!!
