Renewing/Applying for LTCH...

How big of a hassle is it to renew/apply for a permit in Marion county? I need to renew and my wife wants to apply (finally). I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions to make it go smoother.

In Indiana it is a License To Carry a Handgun. LTCH. Open and concealed carry ok.

CCW is Concealed Carry Weapon usually a permit. Kind of the same but more restrictive. Used in other states.

Just a real basic comparison.

There is only LTCH. Indiana is silent of HOW you carry.

We joke here that you can carry it around duct taped to your forehead if you wish.

Hello and welcome to INGO.

States call their handgun licenses different things. A couple things to keep in mind: does the State have Constitutional (permitless) carry of handguns? Does the State have reciprocity with Indiana (do they recognize our license?)

Then, what State am I visiting? You have to follow the laws of the State you are in when outside the Great State of Indiana.

How Long

I live in Missouri and have a CCW, We are planning to move to Indiana next summer "Madison" and was wondering how long do you have to live
in Indiana before you can apply for the lifetime carry permit? I still have
2 years left on the Mo. before I would have to get it renewed. Thanks

All you need to do is have a Indiana drivers license with your Indiana home address on it.

That post was from 2008. I'm guessing he got it handled by now, and of not we'll never know be cause he hasn't been on since 2010.
