it is either an 870 or an 1100. The underlug that goes over the magazine on an 870 is 3/4 of an inch in length while an 1100 is much longer to aid in the semi auto function

Some 1187 barrels dont pressure compensate ( target and deer bbls iirc).

1100 barrels for 3" should be called out as magnums and have a single gas port.

Think 2 gas port magnums should be 1187, since excess gas pops that spring open and vents excess.

Since 1100 magnums dont compensate, they run the heavy action sleeve.

Never owned an 1187. Buds have. Have owned a few magnun and standard 1100s.

It is difficult to tell by the picture, but I tend to agree with Bstarkey, maybe an 11-87 barrel, I am going by the gas ring around the barrel, it looks slightly different from that of an 1100. If it is an 1100 barrel, it is a magnum barrel in order to shoot 3" shells.

Magnum barrels on 1100s say 3" and " magnum". Dont mention 2 3/4"....

Unless sold as a "steel shot" barrel.
Which has both shell lengths mentioned......and says what receiver to run em on (iirc).

Will dig mine out after work, since Google sucks.

Funny, 1100 magnum and standard receivers are the same, but they do run different action sleeves and barrels. Plus in the old days buying a magnum got you walnut w a recoil pad.

1250 fps low brass will cycle a magnum fine. Killed a lot of doves w a couple, when lead was legal at F&W areas.

    1187.

1100 barrels are not pressure compensating.

Somebody taped up the bbl support to not lose the spring that acts as pressure valve
I took the tape off and it does have a spring in it and 2 ports. Forgive me for my ignorance on Remington guys.. I do appreciate the help to identify this. Thanks
