    Someone said they were afraid of my gun.
    I said, "No you're not".
    They looked confused.
    I told them, if a bear walked into the restaurant, I'd be afraid of it.
    I would NOT run up to it and start waving hands and raising my voice.
    I would in fact, try to get out.

    Unfortunately if you let them get close enough to use a shotgun on your front porch, they're too close, that is unless that shotgun has a rifled slug barrel. I would prefer to have them stack up at a much more manageable range of 50+ yards. People get a whole new perspective of their life when they have to walk past the fallen.

    #4 buck, open cylinder, 100ish yards.

    Pretty similar to the effects of a claymore. Unlikely to kill anyone but it'll make them think twice. The closer they get the higher the lethality gets.
