Went over to the range at lunch today. Had a whole side almost to myself. This one is 50 rounds, 5 rd strings with a vp9sk. May need to get the full size out next time.

You and anyone else can, just need the right teacher and practice the right things. There are a whole lot better shooters out there though.

There's plenty of room left to push that target out farther!

I rectified a mistake I made while in trimming mode last year.
I sold a Canik TP9 SA M2 for a home defense gun & was able to pick one up Sunday from a member.
I did prefer my previous DA/SA Canik since this one is SAO.

    Comes with 4 mags:
    - 18 rd x3
    - 20 rd x1
    Unfortunately, no box.

Immediately ran to the range to day to try out the new toy!
Used CCI Blazer 115 grain copper round nose.
    Targets are 3.75" circles.
Should have used the 6" circles to make myself look good, but I had these with me, haha!

    Rows 1 & 2 all on a rest, row 3 free hand.
Row 1, first circle at 15', then the rest of the page is at 21'.

    9mm x3 today:
    - Beretta 92 FS INOX (15 rd)
    - Beretta PX4 Storm (18 or 20 rd)
    - CZ Rami (10 or 14 rd)

Put 10 rds from each gun on 5.75" circles at 30' on a rest.
    Measured groups.

Upper left circle CZ Rami = 5 3/8" groups (last today)
    Upper right circle Beretta PX4 Storm = 4 7/8" groups (2nd today)
    Middle circle Beretta 92FS INOX = 3 1/2" groups (1st today)

POI was low & I had to raise my POA for both Berettas.
CZ Rami POI not as much.
Thought about using 3.75" circles today, but I was under time constraints.

I have enjoyed this iconic gun sooo much!
Although, this might be the last time at the range with it.
It is safe trimming time again & I can't justify it as a range gun since the days of blowing through 200-300 rds of 9mm at the range are over for me.
I've got a Beretta PX4 Storm with 18 & 20 rd mags for a house gun, which is how I justify it, haha!
After I get back from a couple of trips out of town, I'll put it into the Classifieds.

I was getting tired & shooting too fast with the Free Hand.
Didn't work out well for me haha!
Obviously, some things cannot be rushed, haha!
The 123 grain reloads wanted to shoot low for me.

Picked up another SW 3rd Gen 9mm: 5904 with the rare rear adjustable sights along with a decocker.
I'm not doing much range time with 9mm anymore, just function checks, but I just had to try this one out, since I haven't had a SW 3rd Gen in awhile.
I've had half-a-dozen of these guns & I'm not going to keep it long, b/c I'd have to sell one of my CZ 9mms & that's not going to happen, haha!

I put 80 rds through the 5904 today.
I used a box of reloads & on another target dialing in the elevation & windage.

This target of 30 rds was with Federal American Eagle, 115 grain, FMJ, CRN.
There is a slight gray 2.75" circle going through the number.
    1st row is 21'.
    2nd & 3rd row is 30'.
    5 rounds per target.
    Range 1st day bought 7.19.2023 6 targets 21 & 30ft..jpg

Fairly consistent shooting at the 30' distance. Never owned the older Gen Smith 9mms , just a couple of Shield 9mms. My Sig P226 and Gen 5 Glock 34 shoot the best of my 9mms.

The 3rd Gen Smiths can be addicting.
They just feel so very fine in the hand, being all metal, if you like that sort of thing, haha!
If I was a collector, I would have kept all that I've had in the past!

If I could afford it I would probably have an all stainless steel Sig P226 X5 single action , a friend of mine said the adjustable trigger is really good. And that is coming from a long time bullseye shooter. I will probably have the trigger on my P226 Elite worked on and see how I shoot it afterwards.

Note: I mislabeled the gun 5906, instead of the correct 5904. :wallbash:
At least I got the date right. :lmfao:

I was enjoying my last range time before selling the SW 5904 when I get back from vacation beginning of August.
I knew I wasn't going to keep it when I bought it, but I just had to try out the rear adjustable sights, which I had on a 40 caliber SW 3rd Gen & loved, but never had on a 3rd Gen 9mm.

All 21' using CCI Blazer 115 grain SCN.
5 rounds per target with scoring between 45 - 47 pts.

Great to hear your wife felt so much better from Sunday to Monday! I tested positive last January and just felt totally drained like I was running on 10% power.

Those CZs look great , really like the Shadow with the SA trigger. I would definitely hold onto to them! I need to take out my P226 , shot this last March shortly after buying the P226. Even though the group is right a little still the best target I have shot at 50 yards with a 9mm. Not shown in the picture is the optics slide with Romeo 1 Pro.

Was this group fired from a rest? What ammo were you using?

Shot standing with a two hand hold. The ammo was Hornady 124 XTP , 5.3 Power Pistol , Federal primer and Starline brass. The P226 also has a Romeo1 Pro red dot too. I am going to send the P226 to The Sig Armorer for an action job. My old German P220 had quite a good trigger while this US made P226 has quite a marginal trigger .

A rare treat, shooting 9mm today:
    - CZ Shadow 2
    - CZ Rami
    - Beretta PX4
Used Blazer ammo (no reloads), all at 21'.
Since I don't normally shoot 9mm anymore for simple range fun, I should sell the two CZs, but I just can't let go yet.

    All ;at 21'.
The Beretta PX4 (bottom row) POI was 7"-8" low on the first circle
    &
on the 2nd circle my POA was higher but POI still low?
I also shot 30' target, but forgot to take a pic even after labeling it. :wallbash:
All 3 guns did better at 30'. :rockwoot:
PX4 didn't shoot as low at 30', but still way too low? :dunno:
I obviously need a lower front sight or higher front sight.

Looks like the Shadow 2 is the clear winner there! I wanted to get a CZ TS series in single action but looks though CZ does not make one with an optics ready slide. They do have the Shadow 2 available optics ready.
