That's what he's referring to when he mentioned "the cube".If you use the hotspot much, it might be worth considering a separate device?

You must have been one of the lucky few to get in. If you try to sign up now, you'll likely be told it's not available in your area and please wait.... unless you do the RV system, which can be depriortized.Apologies for the error in numbers, picked a bad or misworded source.
How isn't it offered east of the Mississippi? I didn't have to cheat, just signed up to be notified when it was available and bought the equipment when they told me I could.
Not Starlink. They are raising the price of the RV service from $135 to $150 a month to try and slow demand... they can't keep up.Seems to me it is like TV providers and house insurance where you have to change once in a while to get the best service and prices.
Yes. It sounds like they really can't keep up - with both the demand and the delivery. Not Starlink. They are raising the price of the RV service from $135 to $150 a month to try and slow demand... they can't keep up.
Good point about saving money. Starlink was a bit of a let down to be sure. I canceled my reservation after a year and soon after they announced the price hikes. If T-Mobile gets the service fixed in a timely manner I’ll be happy again.I'm obviously hoping for better but that's about what I've been experiencing here for months so if Verizon delivers the same I'll at least be saving $65/mo.
Same for me. My fiber is already here and I am very happy with it.FWIW... Received an email last evening stating 'Your Starlink order is ready!'. This was from the original 'get-in-line' process way back... Don't really need it now that fiber is almost here.
Did you sign up for a residential system?They lost me after;
- paying a deposit
- waiting in excess of a year past the expected ship date
- increase of purchase price with ship notification
- increase of monthly service with ship notification
I was an enthusiastic fan prior to these things, now I look at them as being no better than comcast or att as far as company goes. If given a choice I will continue to choose different provider.
Did you sign up for a residential system?
I bought a RV system and had it within a week, sold it within a year as the power company ran fiber down our road...
I believe overall hardware costs have come down, I'm a fan as it is light-years ahead of satellite internet, which I got and returned within a week...yes, residential. It was during the launch before they had an RV option.
We may try the Tmobile thing while long distance traveling, if it doesn't pan out I may look at starlink again but it will not be my first choice.
Did you try uncoiled rice?Interesting this thread popped up. Our dishy got beat up this past Tuesday with some 4" hail. Water then got in and took it out of service. Submitted a ticket Tuesday evening and I had a tracking number by end of day Wednesday for a complimentary replacement.
Also, left it out in the sun to dry Wednesday and it eventually started working again...currently wrapped in a trash bag to keep it dry until replacement comes in.
No, the sunshine worked quickly enough for me. I didn't have that much rice either.Did you try uncoiled rice?
