You can copy/paste from your computer or your phone (pics). Not sure about videos. You can also copy/paste pics from the web. No need to upload anymore.

Well that is GREAT news. I'm a bit tired of having to signup for new sites. My gmail spam folder in the last 10 years has become overloaded with scams, porn spam and insurance crap.
I will give it a try here to test. Thanks for the replys guys.

Wow.they way it should have been years ago...would have never known if it was for you 2.thanks
Years ago storage was much more expensive to buy and maintain, so forum sites forced users to use links to offsite picture storage saving $$ and backup space.

Now multi-terabyte drives are cheap and common and SSD devices are highly reliable so forum operators can allow direct storage of images/video data without going bankrupt.

Its not that simple. Allow me a moment to put on my Enterprise IT guy hat. I presently run two VMWare data centers for my day job. You cant just slap a $50 USB drives onto virtual servers in a data center and call it good. It just doesnt work that way.

Data center server storage for virtualized systems is stupid expensive compared to Walmart grade pocket hard drives. Which that extra storage space also drives up the cost of your backup solution. So you get it in the wallet coming and going.

I'd venture a guess and say the only way TK could do it the way you want would be to make site supporter status mandatory for all to cover the cost.

Now maybe if TK was running this site on a PC in his spare bedroom you might be right... (but he isnt)

Yes, but even enterprise storage has come way down in price from what it used to be. I am a 20+ year Linux Sr SysAdmin and have managed multi thousand server networks myself (Obviously not by myself).

Yes, cost has come down on the disks. But its not the drives that are the problem. its the storage arrays you have to put them in to make them talk to the virtualization environment. :spend: :faint:

EDIT: And if its not your servers/COLO facility, you are at the mercy of whatever pricey storage array they chose to buy.

So i can assum that these systems are run similar to the old schuzzy drive system array. I lost touch with hardware many years ago. I had 1 of those drives from a server in a pc i built. Might even still have it.

I click on the insert image box above the text box when posting and upload my picture that way. I've never used the attach file. Does that work for videos? I haven't figured out how to share videos other than using vimeo.

I just tried this out. I used to post through an app on my old phone.
