I'm working that way myself.
Mostly because my firearms will be handed down, and the future generations will probably want optic ready, and threaded barrels etc. So I'm starting to buy accordingly.

i went to 3 pistols to 13 in less than 4 years. no ar15s to 4 in less than 3.

This is like a grail gun for me, but I've been watching the price on it creep up for years now. I had a chance years ago to buy one of these, brand new, for ~$1300. Checked it a couple years later and it was ~$1500. Now they're over $1800 and I've resigned myself to never owning one...

Oh yeah, I completely understand that...

I went from having one G19 gen 3 that I picked up at the end of 2012 or so. Didn't carry it or go to the range for about a year. When I did get to the range I got the bug and went to the range every weekend for like 7 years straight and continued to buy guns like they were going out of style. I've slowed down, but have a reasonably healthy collection of pistols and rifles now...

Yep. I have a SA Garrison 1911 in .45 and love it. It's everything I need in a 1911. I wanted a nice railed 1911 as well, but not at that price.
