I thought Robert Clary was in a concentration camp during the war. He wore long sleeves in the series to cover his tattoo.

I had heard that Robert Clary was in the french underground.

But I guess I was wrong.

This is why wiki is weak for a source. LOL. EDIT, misread.

Clary says in the recorded commentary on the DVD version of episode "Art for Hogan's Sake" that he spent three years in a concentration camp, that his parents and other family members were killed there, and that he has an identity tattoo from the camp on his arm ("A-5714").
