Suggestion: If you can go 16 inch or more on the barrel, you can use any kind of stock you want and be legal. Bonus: longer barrel will get the bullet moving faster. Bullet will work better at higher speeds. can you find a picture on line of what you think you want and post it?
That's why I wanted to see the ARS of INGO. I have no clue what I want. It's a little overwhelming when I start looking.

I suppose questions could narrow it down for you. What do you want to do with it? Neat toy? Self defense? Militia arm? Indoor range gun? Outdoor range gun? Distance you want to use it at? Steel sights/optics?

There are so many options because they are used in so many ways. Youtube could help you see what you are wanting to do with it.

    Lots of ideas here...
It was once upon a time but a lot of the pictures are now missing. It's a lot of time scrolling for very few pictures.

I'm low on time, energy and patience.

I was looking at pictures there before I started my post.

I also need to know where people are getting things currently since the whole atmosphere has changed.

Come on, who doesn't love to post a picture of their favorite gender neutral 'toy' or to talk about it?

Your friends are tired of seeing and hearing you talk about it but I'm not. Show me what you got.

I picked up an Anderson stripped lower & lower parts kit today because it was the only thing I can find locally. Also because Avenue Arms in Richmond is an awesome gun store with a knowledgeable and friendly staff.

They took the time to talk to me and answer lots of questions without ever making me feel inadequate because I didn't already know the answers. Some places ignore me. It's a hell of a store. Kind of like the cheers of gun stores.

The nice man at the gun store is going to assemble the lower for a small fee. He also said he would build ARs from other places. That opens the door for all kinds of future build possibilities.

It's a start to my AR pistol. It gives me a platform to build on.

He showed me everything on Tuesday but I wanted to do some research before buying anything. I figured because Anderson was inexpensive it was crap. Turns out it's actually a decent brand.

I am rich by no means but I do not want to buy the cheapest parts out there. This is going to be a pistol. It could blow up & do major harm if not assembled correctly or inferior parts are used. My life and well-being are worth more than an extra couple hundred bucks to me.

Unfortunately, there are no uppers to be found locally. Most of the uppers I like online are sold out. The ones that are in stock are names I've never heard of or really pricy. I hate to give crazy money for something I have not seen or touched.

So now the hunt is on for an upper. What brands do you like? Which ones are junk that I need to avoid?

Hey guys / gals, it's me again, probably better grab a drink and a snack if you are going to read this.

I've been thinking recently I should probably pick up an AR or an AK. I've never been into long guns much so I know absolutely nothing about either one.

I saw a really cool girly AR at the Kokomo show. It tickled my fancy because it was colorful. I liked it but it did not necessarily look to be of the highest quality.

I liked it about $895 worth. I was not even going to insult the dealer and ask him for such a deal.

For $1,200+ dollars I want something a little beefier and more sturdy looking.

After the show my friend let me shoot their AR chambered in .223.

I typically suck at long guns but I actually did a decent job shooting that AR.

Since I'm not having any luck finding an affordable truck or realistically priced Colt detective or agent, now it's time to look for parts to build my very own customized AR.

I want to build something that's uniquely mine.
I want it to be badass yet lady like. I'm looking for parts that will enhance reliability and durability but I don't want to go broke for fancy stuff someone like me doesn't need.

I have no idea how to build an AR. I have no clue what the pieces are or where to get them.
Looking at catalogs doesn't help me if I don't know the name of what it is I'm looking for.

I work long and crazy hours and run a zoo on the side. I don't have lots of extra time for research. I need somebody to help me get on the speed path to find AR parts so I can assemble my new friend.

I always wanted an older brother and never got one. That's what I use INGO for now.

No one has ever really taken the time to teach me what I need to know about guns except for some of you. I learn things as I need to know them.

You guys know this stuff frontwards and backwards. Could you please share your knowledge with me? Come on guys, help a sister out.

Please show me some pictures of what you have and why you like it. Where did you find your cool parts?

I am right handed and left eye dominant. I typically shoot right handed. However with the AR I naturally shot it in a left-handed position without even realizing it.

Due to residual whiplash in my neck it is almost impossible to shoot right handed while looking with my left eye. It is painful to try to tilt my head into position.

Everything is further complicated by my short little arms.

Something about the AR instinctively fixed my shooting position problem.

I will admit that I do not know sh*t but I want to learn.

These are things I'm looking for in an AR this

    Gungirl's AR Wish List

*I know that I need a longer trigger pull as opposed to a hair trigger. I need a happy medium.

    *I prefer metal to plastic.

    * I like smooth grips (Hogue-like) with the finger spaces in them.

    * I liked the 10.5" barrel of the AR I shot. However I might like an even shorter barrel. I am petite. Correction it was a 11.5 " barrel.

    * I like curves and shapes as opposed to just simple & plain.

*I do like chrome and stainless.

    Girly extras

*Colors like pink, gray, black, red, orange or fluorescent green.

    * Flags, crosses, skulls, cats, something unique.

    * I want it chambered in .223 / 5.56 X 45mm

Anyone have any extra parts you want to sell?

What do I need, where do I get it?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

This is what I have so far.

So much fun to be had.

If you are still going the Pistol route I would buy this , like right now. You will still need a Charging Handle , Bolt and Bolt Carrier Group. But it's a BCM a known very high quality manufacturer.

When building keep it simple. You don't need crazy accessories. Get a quality upper, ballistic advantage makes a good affordable barrel and bcg or faxon or Rosco, get a name brand handguard bcm, centurion, geissele, alg, mi, and a good handle. *Or just buy a factory assembled bootleg upper from Rainier* you'll spend more to build anything similar quality.

Bobcat shows another kak brace kit in stock like mine. I'd do this build again having built a number of pistols.

Remember the optic. It's so important to buy a quality red dot.

    11.5" upper in .556

No frills, git-r-done gun. Sometimes simple is best.

Do you have your trigger yet? I have an ALG ACT trigger that is looking for a home. It was removed for a 2-Stage upgrade...
