    2 of neighbors center pivots, both fed by the same well. They were drained, winterized, serviced previously this fall. “Somehow“ they began having water flow thru them late last week just before the big freeze. Estimate of $100k in damage. The neighbors are one of the largest farms in the Midwest. I wouldn’t even attempt to guess how many pivot systems they have. Guaranteed that these were serviced properly. In years past the owners had many thefts of copper wire from pivots. So much so that they installed cellular connected sensors that would notify them of people messing with the systems. My guess is “someone” figured out how to turn on the well and start the water flowing…no where near the systems so the sensors were not activated. Owners were notified by neighbors who saw it after the fact.

    Pictures of male and female Anna's Hummingbirds at my FiL's feeder over Thanksgiving. It was neat to see hummers again after a couple of months without them here at home.
