    Been a lot of years since I've seen a box turtle.

    I have a friendly one (or more !) that crosses my Owen county get-a-way.
    Last year, I thanked him for guarding my mushrooms !

    Caught a hognose last weekend up north. Son saw a Massasauga rattler Sunday up there.
    If you don't mind me asking, where did you see that rattler? Those are pretty rare in IN, I used to run around the dunes a lot when I was a kid and saw quite a few hognose and others, but never a Massasauga other than one they had in the nature center. The CO that was there said it was the 2nd or 3rd one he'd seen in his career of something like 15 yrs.

    I've seen 3 so far this year. 2 that were hit by passing vehicles in front of my driveway and a little banded something or another on the knobstone trail this past Friday evening. He wasn't much bigger than a pencil
    Yeah, I've seen a couple of others from a distance. This was just the first one that stood still long enough for me to get close enough for me to get his/her photo. :D
