Let's Go Brandon wanted to shoot it down. Pentagon would not let him...

Recon Brandon used the wrong pronoun for the balloon?

One media report says the thing is about 3 times as big as a city bus. Being that gravity is still a thing, shooting down something that heavy may not be the bestest plan if it's over land with people on it. I guess it's too high for a helicopter to reach and hook it given it says it's operating above normal commerical flights. Can we not detect them while they are still over the ocean where their fall would not be so risky?

Unfortunately an attack on a Chinese satellite could be considered an act of war probably followed by massive retaliation. Ain’t worth it.

Reportedly, the Pentagon believes it cannot gain any information they cannot get from low-level satellites and they are concerned about falling debris.

With this administration, its a roll of the dice on what to believe. I'd take even money on them coordinating what to say?

Joe looks good speaking like we all feel. Pentagon CYA with the limp...

It's not a satellite, it's a ****ing balloon in our airspace.

We don't defend ourselves from foreign spy aircraft gathering intelligence in our airspace because shooting it down might hit...what, a cow? It's over Montanta, not the Mall of America!

The Soviet Union shot down one of our U2 spy planes and captured the pilot in 1960. We won't even shoot down an unmanned balloon.

Maybe someone should report that the balloon is filled with pistol braces.

    Jesus, we are ****ed.
