I learned Fortran 77 a long time ago. Post mortem dumps. :faint:
I actually like (modern) Fortran (95+)... It's very easy for a scientist to learn compared to C, and both wipe the floor with Matlab/python/non-compiled languages. But I do numerical calculations for physics. Someone in another field would probably benefit from a more abstract language like C. I dabble in C(++) for using code written by others, but I find it pretty tedious.

I use a bit of subroutines in FORTRAN (the modern stuff like Fortran 90), but what's an interrupt subroutine?

Woah, woah, woah. If there's one thing I've learned on INGO, it's that basic websearches cannot displace hassling strangers on the internet for an explanation.

Edit: That was actually a pretty clear explanation. Thank you.

More than you want to know?
    Almost certainly not.

Another good answer (especially after the reading Quora answer). This is a more technical side of computing than I'm accustomed to, so it's like a new world to this equation and symbol grinder. I'll be rereading both of this later when I'm not on a time constraint. Thanks.
