Rock Island midsize 45acp, project gun. Night sights, springs, pin set, mainspring housing, firing pin, firing pin flat bottom stop, hammer, sear, Egw oversized extractor, EGW oversized ejector,EGW disconnect, Wilson single side thumb safety, grips and, paint job. About $700 investment, not really too much, I had most of the parts in the bin.

My weakness is antique schuetzen rifles.

You often have to make brass/bullets for since each one is entirely custom, and restoration can take months, even years.

They are GREAT looking wall hangers, but the market will never support the amount of work required.

On the other hand, no one in schuetzen history has ever said "The dog ate my gun" like the polymer frame owners have posted! ;)

You guys think 1911s can get spendy??? Try one of these specialty pistols. I picked up 3 of these XP-100 single shots. One is an original 221 Fireball with a Redfield 2-7 pistol scope. Looks like it came right out of an old Remington mid-80s catalogue. One was slightly "damaged" from a house fire. Just rust on the action from the case getting wet and neglected. And the third was a custom that is 2/3 pictured here. This one was a 7mm BR with no ammo to be found. I sent the rusty 221 and this 7mm to Robert Stenski of Ski Rifles in Pendleton for a slight "upgrade". The rusty 221 was stripped and a new Lilja 223 stainless fluted barrel was fitted to a laminate thumbhole stock. The 7mm BR pictured was also fitted with a new Lilja 6.5 barrel and chambered in 6.5 Grendel. The brake was added and Robert test fired it. Now its in pieces for some color at AllenMs. Now if I could just pick some glass for these...

To that end, here's my Colt Delta Elite. This is a gun that I'm upside-down with. I've replaced the internals with quality parts and fit a beaver tail grip safety. I had a custom barrel bushing cut to bring it into spec and fit a flat bottom FPS. AllenM did the sight cuts, front strap checkering and color. It was finished off with mammoth ivory.

Guns are hard to make money in. No one values the parts like you do. I do almost no customization and can count on maybe one hand the guns I've made more than I spent for, and even than was only a few bucks.
