    I'm finding not all blades are quality steel, and most of what is promoted as Damascus, is clad over a core.
    Real, solid Damascus only costs 20%-30% more.:dunno:

    Some blades cost as much, if not more than a completed knife.

    I've never inquired into the cost of the blades that Frosty makes, but I'm guessing they're not cheap because of the labor involved.

    He really does (and so do you), but I'm not a heavy knife user, so they'd be wasted on me. I do love the looks of a Damascus blade.
    It's his craftsmanship that makes my stuff look decent. The Mrs. uses kitchen knives regularly, so that's what I will make.
    The Damascus can take several days to make from my understanding. A lot involved with the folding, hammering, heat welding, quenching, heat treating, etc.
