Oregon Gun Control Ballot Measure Passes, Barely; Iowans Overwhelmingly Approve RKBA Amendment

Two firearm-related ballot measures – one bad, one good – were voted on in last week’s midterm elections. Both passed.
In the blue state of Oregon, voters were presented with Measure 114, the 12-page Changes to Firearm Ownership and Purchase Requirements Initiative, described by the NRA as “the nation’s most extreme gun control Initiative.” Among other things, it requires a law enforcement-issued “permit to purchase” to buy or transfer a firearm, requires law enforcement to maintain a registry of gun owners’ personal information (gathered from permit applications), and subjects legitimate gun owners to extra fees to exercise their rights. It also unconstitutionally bans the use, possession, manufacturing, and transfer of magazines with a capacity of more than ten rounds.

Little wonder a portion of Oregon wants to secede.

    I pray they are successful.

This is going to be bitch slapped into oblivion by the court system. Michigan is now trying to pass some similar garbage. Never give an inch, they will take a mile.

Can't remember where for sure but several years ago a woman democrat Representave in I think Illinois said something similar. She was voting against the proposed CCW bill because of her personal experience. She was mugged on a city street and as the perp ran away she thought "If I had a gun I would shoot him." Because of that she felt no one should be able to legally carry a gun.
One I do remember was in Illinois when they were passing the CCW was democrat Rep. Mary Flowers. Her reason for voting against the bill was her district was made up of a large number of felons and the CCW bill could put them in danger. Jim.

Oregon has never really been "gun friendly" (e.g. they have no reciprocity). But this is really sad. The Portland Dems continue to destroy their beautiful state.

They're like locusts. They destroy the areas where they are, then move on to the next area and proceed to destroy that too.

Yep. That's what they did to Colorado. That's what they're trying to do to Texas. They destroy one state with their policies, move to escape them, and then enact policies in the new state that follow the same path.

Even in todays pretend make believe upside down world, I can't imagine needing a permit to exercise a constitutional right. Surely a court (somewhere) will correct that. Then again, I'm a heretic that believes men can't birth a baby. So what do I know.
Michigan's been doing it with handguns since around 1927, every time they get close to getting rid of it the State Police throw a fit. They came close once before but then one of the shootings happened and the RINO's got scared.
