    You would think the water would get under the siding and really cause some problems.
    Like mold and mildew in the walls.
    I guess I am thinking too much about that.
    Yeah, there’s no way to keep water from getting through the walls themselves unless they’re made with some solid material, even concrete can wick water through. I used flex seal paste on an upstairs dormer window. The sill of the window had apparently been letting water in for a while but it was running straight down and out of the overhang below, and not getting into the wall or interior of the house. I never knew there was a problem until I built an addition and extended the roof below that window. Took forever to figure out why I had a pretty good stream of water coming into my new room. I’m gonna redo the entire dormer this spring, but I put the flex seal on it in October and have not had a drop of water since.
