    :(

Just got word that one of the guards at work is out for at least 1 week due to firearm range injury.

He was at the company range last week which is in Gary, IN doing pistol qualifications testing. The sidearm blew up in his hand. The slide hit him in his stomach area, right side.

He was wearing his bullet resistance vest so that helped stop the slide going into him. His hand is a mess and he has bruising on his stomach.

    Sidearm is a 9mm semi-auto m&p.
It's going back to the maker for review.
Ammo was the standard stuff they use. Commercial 9mm fmj.

Will try and get more detail on sidearm make and ammo used.

    Update
    It was a .40 GLOCK.
    It was a squid load.
Commercial ammo but not federal brand they normally use.
He was doing 2 shot test with bent elbow at his side. 3 sec to shoot twice with arm bent 90 degrees at side, 1 hand.

Well technically, it wasn't the squib. It was the lack of presence of mind and him backing it up with another round... the squib in and of itself did not blow up anything. 3 seconds to shoot 2 rounds is an eternity also. ?
