This is a core leftist fallacy
If I decide to pay for subscription programs, I am the only one responsible for paying for what I want. When 'tax largesse' is used to give you what you want I have to pay for it whether I intend or prefer to use it
The former is freedom of action, the latter is coercive. They are not somehow equivalent
