Only pistol I ever shot was my dad's 22 revolver back in my teen years. (In my 60's now)
Picked up a used Stallard Arms JS-9mm last week.
Magazine catch, (Heel Catch Style) is missing.
Someone replaced it with a piece of spring steel.
Small piece of square stock with a hole drilled & tapped for a 8-32 bolt to hold the spring.
Have not removed the grips yet but guessing the original catch pin is used to keep the square stock in position.
Guy I got it from said he bought out someones collection & it came with it.
Works but is not a quick change mag.
People at work telling me it is a cheap heavy pistol but they are reliable and always go bang when you pull the trigger.
Looking into restoring the mag catch to original condition.

That site has come up in my searches. Thanks
And when you find the part on numrich, lookup the part number on ebay. I found that they list many of their parts on ebay for a little less. I saved a few bucks buying the same stock from them via ebay than I would have if I had bought it from their website.

Yes, I still bought from Numrich, just via their ebay account.

So you wanted a throw down gun before you bought an EDC, so you could be prepared for any possibility?

Just busting on you. Doesn't matter to me what someone else chooses to carry, except to say that if you are as newly reintroduced to firearms as you are, it would probably be a bit better to make sure you have a firearm that has some reasonable support in the market place and with armorers, etc and good amounts of info online, as well as one that can be reasonably expected to perform.

The grips & trigger guard are different than what I see in your video.
As far as the internals, have not had this apart yet.

Edit: Ok, now why did one pic post upside down?

iphones are notorious for not reporting proper orientation. I sometimes have to rotate the photo on my PC 90*, save, rotate it BACK 90*, and save. THEN it shows correctly on a website.

I think you will likely have trouble finding a mag catch and mag catch pin. Those parts are long out of production, you'd have to find used parts. You might call Hi-Point and tell them what you've got, maybe they have some old Stallard parts laying around. Here's the pistol schematic from Numrich, showing which parts you would need.

I don't know what you paid for that Stallard, or what your budget is, but I would seriously consider purchasing a better handgun if it is going to be used for defense of yourself and your loved ones.

Called Hi-Point & was told about the only thing they still stock is this Mag Heal Catch.
Had to leave voicemail & they called back in about 20 minutes.
    Cool!
Wanted to give them serial number to inquire about the aprox date of manufacture.
Was so impressed with the call back I forgot to ask.
    (Or Alzheimers, can't remember)
In mail now. (Actually a couple of them, I think)
Hope I don't find anything else screwed up when I open it up.
Guys at work have said about the only thing they know about this gun is they are simple, reliable, and go bang every time you pull the trigger.
    Now need more ammo...
