I had a 27 that I bought unfired a couple years back. The quality of the craftsmanship was beyond any revolver I'd ever handled. The cylinder lockup was very tight. I had a problem having a gun I knew that if fired would lose value. It's among the few I regret selling. I hope to come across another, in at least as good of condition as yours, cause I bet it's a sweet shooter!

How deep is the rust/pitting on the side there? Have you tried the copper penny trick on it?

I would not have fired that Model 27 either. On the other hand, I probably would have kept it.

The gun has only been with me for a few days. There isn't any putting. I may try the penny check tomorrow when I clean it up
