Didn't hear about this... One of the speakers is from Jacksonville, FL. I'd suggest they go play militia in their own state.

Doesn't look like any of them are starving (except for attention.)

Rifles isn’t really an issue, and indiana has reciprocity with a lot of states, so handguns wouldn’t be an issue either. And yes, this is the black equivalence of the kkk.

On top of that . . . and not many know about this . . . Indiana law enforcement cannot Terry Stop (detain) someone obviously carrying and demand to see their carry permit, simply because they're observed carrying (openly or concealed). There must be grounds for a Terry Stop with clearly articulated suspicion a specific crime has been committed, is being committed, or is about to be committed . . . beyond the fact the person is carrying. This was an Indiana Supreme Court decision four years ago: Pinner v. Indiana (2017).

1/6 started in the streets and Ashli and the rest were 'taking action for what they believe(d) in'

I believe those were the criteria you set? Just seeing how you feel about that street activism when the protesters are politically incorrect
No you are moving goalposts around as usual.

Using conjunctions in your first paragraph is the evidence.

Then you move it back to the streets for the second.

You want a direct answer ask a direct question, otherwise, we can play all night.

Possibly you have insight on their mindset that I'm missing? What exactly do they believe in? What was the purpose of their demonstration?
No. No insight into the mindset.

All of that is black box to my statement commending them for having a public demonstration to advocate for what ever is in the black box.

    To explain more . . .
They're a very radical Marxist-Leninist-Maoist organization wanting to violently incite "The Revolution" to form a separate black communist nation. From what I saw in the video of this event, it's grandstanding with a show of radical black power in the heart of a very red state of white supremacist oppressors and plantation owners (aka employers) enslaving the black man (aka oppressed employees) to get mainstream media attention for recruiting purposes -- because they can make their presence and power felt in the middle of KKK-land with heavily armed force and therefore are invincible. It's all about the Class Struggle (read Karl Marx) that can only be won violently. They are violent and have been for over two decades. They aren't a group of wannabe posers. They're the real deal, and inherently dangerous.

It was defaced about a year ago declaring it was a monument to imperialism - among other things. Typical Marxist rhetoric along with much of what was being screeched in this demonstration.

Let there be no mistake, the New BPP is another Marxist organization embracing a combination of Leninism and Maoism. Even the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and Anti-Defamation League (ADL) have distanced themselves significantly from the New BPP (aka NBPP) declaring them a Black Separatist Hate Group. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights agrees.

This isn't the original BPP founded in the 1966 by Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton in Oakland, CA. The original BPP "open carry" and intimidation tactics stalking police there while openly armed resulted in the 1967 repeal of Commiefornia's open carry law. Huey Newton killed an Oakland PD officer in 1967. Eldridge Cleaver (remember him?) lead a 1968 ambush of Oakland PD that wounded two officers and resulted in BPP Treasurer Bobby Hutton being killed. Other members were in numerous fatal firefights with police. Their size and power reached a peak in 1970 when mainstream press began publishing exposes on their radical politics and violence. The even more radical Black Liberation Army was created by Cleaver after he was expelled from the BPP by Newton in 1970. The BPP started extorting Oakland businesses and engaging in drug dealing for money by 1972, losing more popularity. In 1974, Newton went into exile in Cuba to evade prosecution. When he returned in 1977, it went downhill further with Newton's violence against BPP member including its women. By 1980 the BPP was down to 27 members and completely dissolved in 1982 after Newton was caught up in a scandal embezzling money from the BPP to fuel his drug use. Newton was murdered in West Oakland in 1989 by [wait for it] a black radical member of the Black Guerilla Family, a Marxist-Leninist narcotics prison gang. Motive for the murder was advancement in the gang and gaining a crack cocaine franchise. He was convicted of First Degree Murder and sentenced to 32 yrs in prison. If sill alive, he's out by now.

The New BPP was formed in 1989 in Dallas, TX, appropriating the organization's name. Bobby Seale has denounced them as xenophobic, and the NBPP has threatened surviving members of the original BPP with violence if they continue to criticize the NBPP. Members have engaged in overt voter intimidation at polling places. One 2008 incident in Philadelphia was shown on CNN with Bobby Seale admitting to CNN the NBPP member wielding a police baton while shouting racial slurs at voters could be considered overt intimidation. Suffice it this New Black Panther Party that showed up in Indianapolis is an anathema that even the radical left doesn't want to be associated with. These are not a bunch of "posers". Given the intimidation and credible threats they've made over the past two decades, many in person, including to former BPP members, they are inherently dangerous and are spoiling for a fight to incite The Revolution.

    Know your enemy.

I remember the old leaders son helped out in a triple murder in Carmel years ago. Dangerous thugs then and now. You are correct though in your assessment. Motivated and willing tied with terrible ideology does make them worth watching.

I didn't mention the younger Ajabu because he wasn't part of the New BPP. He was part of a horrific tripe murder. However, from what I understand about his crime and the other two he was with, it wasn't a New BPP crime considering the trio that committed it. His father Mmoja was part of the New BPP. His attempt to intimidate his son's prosecution is consistent with the New BPP tactics. It certainly didn't do his son any favors but I have no sympathy regarding the damage it did to his defense. He needs to rot in the Graybar Hotel for the rest of his days.

Indeed. I think they're dumb and will continue to call them dumb, but so long as all they're doing is marching I do not wish to see the police take action solely because firearms are present. Give them the rope and see if they hang themselves or not.

Who knows how they did with their target audience? Do you?

When was the last time a Pro 2A march occurred in Indy?
Who exactly was "their target audience?"

Anyone that has served would not be impressed. Like a bunch of kindergarteners meandering to lunch.

You're on the right track. The question: Why go to this trouble and travel expense for attention?

It's not because they're immature narcissists making selfie videos. It's a calculated strategy among Anarchists and Marxists to gain support and spur others to action called "Propaganda of the Deed". The principle became an approved method by the International Anarchist Congress of London in 1881. That's 140 years ago, becoming a key tactic in the Anarcho-Marxist quest for revolution. It's a type of political "Direct Action" to set an example for others, recruit them to the cause, and a become (part of a) catalyst for "The Revolution" to violently overthrow the Capitalist Imperialist government and its institutions that are exploiting them -- the Class Struggle. By projecting Black Power with a heavily armed force in a clearly white supremacist KKK infested enclave of rightwing extremists, it proves the vile, evil oppressors aren't omnipotent and demonstrates the New BPP's Black Power is invincible when confronting them. They have taken the battle for "emancipation" from the white supremacist Capitalist, Imperialist "plantations" to the enemy "plantation owners" who have feet of clay, and emerged unscathed. The value of this is the news coverage which provides high drama publicity for recruiting and radicalizing new members, plus their own video productions of the event that can be posted to their web site(s), blogs, and YouTube.

The leaders of organizations like the New Black Panther Party aren't illiterate, ignorant dolts. They're intelligent, well read, and have studied Marxist and Anarchist dogma, including Direct Action tactics to foment the socio-political and economic instability and generate the civil unrest needed for violent revolution. Their target audience is young economically impoverished blacks who feel powerless with no economic future. Don't underestimate the effectiveness demonstrations like this can have with their target audience. You have to put yourself into the education level, plus socio-economic and political context of the target audience to understand how it works.

    Both things can be true:

    1. African-Americans have legit beefs, then and now.

    2. These guys are often lost in the weeds.

As for me, I can both oppose the mistreatment of African-Americans by the government (wasn't right then, is not right now) and the adulterated Marxism-Leninism of the New Black Panther Party.

As one who had multiple ancestors serving to defeat the Confederacy in the Civil War, I openly mock at their attempts to disparage the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.

What kind of nonsense was this, apparently she's a moron and so is he for even entertaining that question. So she's upset that sentences are so harsh for someone committing burglary when oh yeah there happen to be murders too lol.
