As stated in the "Prayer Chain" thread...a friend of mine lost her cousin in Afghanistan on August 30th. He was a resident of Huntington Indiana. His family and friends are getting together a good group of folks to be roadside to welcome him home one last time. They are trying to get the date he'll be home, now.
If you are in the area, and willing to take the time....
    Chad's final ride home | Facebook#!

"I am doing every thing I can to get a estimated arrival time of when PFC Chad Clements will be making his final trip home to Huntington. I will update the information as soon as I get it so everyone that wants to participate in being roadside to welcome Chad home for the last time will be able to. "

Even though I'm down here I'm still interested in coming up for this. I'm hoping to have my car back on the road this weekend, so it would be more easily possible. Keep us updated on when this is and I'll see what I can do. I'll keep the family and friend in my prayers.:patriot:

    Rachel,

Contact the Patriot Guard Riders. They will have a slough of people there if asked. I'll PM you with the State Captain's email address.

Hornadylnl..Thanks for that information. I contacted them and recieved a reply within minutes of sending the email. They will be there!! I'd rep you if I didn't need to spread it around.

Anyone interested in showing their support, PLEASE do. It would mean the world to his family and friends.

I just saw this post after I responded to your PM.

I haven't done anything with the Patriot Guard for some time. I just got on their forum and didn't see much activity on it so I was worried that they weren't doing much any more. I'm glad they got back with you so quickly. I know at one time the State Captain received so many emails it was difficult for him to keep up with. They are a great bunch of guys and are willing to do whatever the family wants. Ride escorts, flag lines, etc. They usually have 100+ flags on hand and can get a group of people together on very short notice.

RM, evidently we have people in common with each other.

Wifey has a woman that works for her that is an aunt to the soldier killed. I (or possibly we) will be at the funeral.

    God bless that man.

He made it home to Rest. People were out to show their support and respect. There were flags everywhere, along with tears. Never Forgotten!

It was an honor to see Chad come home. It was fantastic to see all the people lining the roads holding flags. My hats off to the Patriot Guard riders, I counted a least 84 motorcycles in the procession. Unfortunately when I went to watch it on the news I learned another brave soldier has given the last full measure for his country. This soldier was from Decatur and died in Iraq. Looks like my flag and I will be standing alongside a road again here soon. Anybody from INGO that can please join me in honoring this fallen hero and showing support for his family.

Glad you made it! :patriot: I too send a BIG Thanks to the Patriot Guard Riders. It was a speechless sight to see them, and the other folks out there with support!!! Humbling.
Sergeant Phillip Chad Jenkins of Decatur was killed Tuesday in Iraq. I will be keeping an eye on the IPGR calendar for further updates on when his arrival home will be!

I'm glad the PGR were able to make it. If they don't do a funeral it is only because they were not notified or if the family doesn't want it. They get in touch with the family to see if they want an escort, flag line etc. Some families don't want it, some do. Their wishes are honored 100%.

+1 to RM for posting the pics! :patriot:

I am a little behind on reading the news as I've been in bed lately, but I didn't know about SGT. Jenkins. I'll be attending that funeral, too, no matter if I have to be carried there.

PFC Clements' Aunt told my wife that the people of Huntington and surrounding areas have been wonderful to the family with well-wishes and any help that is/was needed. She asked my wife to pass on a "thank you" to anyone that has called, wrote, talked to them or even said a prayer for PFC Clements and his family.

RM, keep spreading the news. It's appreciated.:patriot:
