Does anyone know of any land in Hendricks county that I could get permission to hunt on? I found out yesterday that the land I had permission to hunt on in western Hendricks county has been sold and the new owner has placed it off-limits. He has plans to sub-divide for a few hundred homes...eck!
I'd like to find someplace close to home to hunt rabbit and coyotes for the rest of this season and then start looking for a new deer hunting area for the fall. I hate to miss out on the rest of coyote season!

Anybody got any ideas or leads for me? I've looked at a couple of places this week but no luck. One wonderful gentleman who's property I looked at was willing to let me hunt on his land for only $1000 per month! Regrettably, I decided to pass.

look in the phone book and see if you can find a local fertilizer dealer where farmers do business. post an add on their bulletin board. offer to trade a favor for a favor. they let you hunt you bail hay or offer to help in some way. it works. good luck

Just spend 3 or 4 mid day drives in the area, ask 10 to 20 property owners of likely looking land for permission, check all the public lands in that area, I will tell u all the public lands in that area have deer, most have turkey, so just take it nice and slow, it is there! Do not spend money, unless you are just loaded!

If you have a dog than rabbit hunting at one of the FWA will be good. Check out the Indiana DNR site. Nothing wrong with hunting public lands as Field King said.
