    My son-in-law just started his stint as a USMC recruiter yesterday. In Bloomington.

    I feel bad for him.

    Yeah, not very target rich around here. But if he is good, he can still recruit. There are a lot of country folks just outside of town that things aren't looking great for. Catalent just laid off 400 or so and the numerous open jobs around here are not enticing to people it seems.

    You can come work in our plant and make $15/hr and be bored or you can be one of the few to have a career that allows you to retire in 20 years or get out and go to college on Uncle Sam.

    I think I mentioned before that I have a friend in the Army that was stationed here and though it was tough, he hit his numbers.

    I feel bad for him.
    Draw a big circle around B-town and there is a lot of country kids in that area. I'm wanting to say it was... FY 2000 (getting to be a while ago) that the only service that made recruiting quotas was the USMC. Big Blue was throwing money at high school kids starting the year before.
