The neighbor had 20 pet cats? Wow, that’s a lot of cats.
The guys are sadistic jerks and I'm glad they were arrested. They're both 28 years old. I'm guessing this isn't their first stupid sick act.

According to the story the neighbor had (at least) 20 cats and the traps were on property owned by the brothers. This conjures a picture of a 'crazy cat lady' nearby and 20+ cats loose on my property would trigger a call to animal control.

Sorry, but if my neighbor had 20+ cats that were coming over to my property and being a nuisance (cat poop, spraying, living in my barn), I would probably do the same thing. Only difference is I wouldn’t say anything. Forget animal control. Forget talking to the neighbor. The animals simply would not come home. This is one situation that I have no patience for.

We only have one cat around here that I regularly see, and my yard alligators keep it off my property. I do occasionally see it on my cameras hurrying through the yard late at night when it knows the dogs are inside, but it doesn’t stick around long.

I’m guessing that trapping and killing these cats were the highlight of these two losers lives.

Between the two barns and a machine shed we have a lot of cats. Have been exterminating a few as some have become lazy and don't want to bury their poop or poop in the barn on the concrete. As they are spotted, they become a target. Saturday mornings when filling the OWB I watch who poos and walks without covering. I would rather feed a cat than a rat, but we are not running a socialist farm, they earn their keep and keep their area clean or they lose their job and benefits.

Exactly, if you want to maintain vermin, then you better keep them on your own property or be prepared to handle them disappearing. Wrong neighbor was arrested here.

That is just too tough for the bleeding heart crowd…
