I always wanted stainless and polished 1911. However, after seeing the Ronin I fell in love just with pictures and videos online. Then I seen this handled it, and it was coming home even if it wasn't a 10mm.
Why not get both? Started out with the Stainless Competition and the latest was the Ronin 4.25. Both in Gods caliber of course:cool:

Man this thread kinda took on a life of it's own. Nice looking pistols everyone. The 1911 is still alive and very well in 2021. It's really cool to me anyway that a 110 year old design is still one of the most popular pistols in America
I wonder how many millions of 1911's are owned by citizens in the United States? That would be interesting to know.

Not only one of the most popular but still every bit as effective for carry today as anything else

I think that a lot of manufacturers slimmed their product likes to optimize production levels. If you can sell every pistol that you produce, it's better to make 10,000 across 3 product lines than it is to make 7,000 across 10

Gave my boy one of my 1911s a few year s back, then sold the other later. Been packing a Glock 45 for a while, but missed the 1911. Recently picked up a DW Guardian, and I'm very happy with that. It's in 9mm, but I'm ok with that having no .45 ACP anymore now anyway...

Considering the thousands that came back after WWII without any paperwork, I'd guess that it is impossible for anyone to even guess how many are either in circulation, or locked away in parents' and grandparents' attics.
