So did the kid ever find the insurance card?

So if you’re old enough and have a YouTube account you can watch the Naperville PD version here.

What were the things that looked like beer cans falling off the guy with the hatchet?

    Edit: Maybe pill bottles?

    I wondered that, too.
    But I have a question.
Does anyone see anything that they thought the officer did wrong, or didn't do that he should have?
This looked like very good work to me. Remember that I'm not a cop, and don't play one on TV, but if I were that guy's T.O. I'd be pretty proud of that video.

Yeah, he used waaaaay too much force to resolve that situation.
Yeah, like, why can't he try to deescalate the situation or just shoot the hatchet out of the guy's hand? I don't want to hear excuses like how that would endanger the driver of the car getting the traffic citation or that bullets flying down the streets in the suburb endanger the lives of others if he misses. There's no excuse for shooting a man who only has a hatchet. I think one of the main lessons we can learn from this is that police should carry hatchets to at least make things fair.

I'll go back and look at the video again. I missed the part where after shooting the guy with a hatchet, who was running at the officer with a hatchet, the officer got in his car and ran over him :lmfao: NOW THAT, would be too much force.
