It seems to me that there are several serious gun people on this site moving to a 10mm firearm. Watching the WTT posting seems to prove out this theory. So my question is what is the main driving force behind this?

I went to the 10mm because I wanted 357 magnum power in a semiautomatic handgun without paying a fortune for one. I ran across the load data while searching for a load for 45acp and noticed the speed of the 155gr and 180gr were actually the same and in some loads much faster than a 357 magnum. So I bought my first 10mm a Glock 20sf. I was then in search of a 10mm 1911 (I blame INGO 1911 lovers and fans for it) I wanted a Ronin in 10mm. Couldn't find one. So my son bought me a RIA Ultra FS 10MM for Christmas and I've fell in love with the 1911 platform since.

If you have ever seen the movie Spinal Tap....It goes to eleven. If you haven't seen the movie it doesn't make any sense...lol. ...Power is the reason for me.Not all factory loads are created equally though..Some barely more power than .40. Some will stop Bears. My EDC is a 9mm but I love my 10mm at the range
This. I will pass on the 460 as that is pretty much a re-loaders round.

Then ya start looking around and discover the 460 Rowland.
    Still tempted.
Took a long look at the .460 Rowland round...very impressive ballistics!
But I ended up going with the .45 Super round and have been very pleased with my choice!
I run a 24# recoil spring in a Glock 21 with a 5.25" tactical slide and barrel... amazing accuracy!
It's a beefed-up .45 acp casing to be able to handle higher pressures using the .45 acp round...very impressive energy disbursement numbers!
    Lovin' the .45 Super...

I’ve been a 10mm fan since it’s infancy. Have had numerous guns in that caliber and still have a few. You can get loads from 40 Short n Weak power all the way up to the Nuclear loads. It’s a good caliber and I’m glad that more manufacturers are producing quality guns in 10mm. Now if they’d only put out an affordable PCC on the AR platform that uses Glock mags. I know about the Banshee but I think it’s just overpriced for what it is. Hopefully someday I’ll get one….

near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
I’ve been a serious gun guy most of my life. I tried the 10mm as an impressionable yute because Don Johnson carried the Bren Ten in Miami Vice. Got one of the first Glock 29s. Then fell in love with the round for the power and versatility. It’s a reloader's dream. Glock kept the round commercially viable until the rest of the shooting world came to their senses. I now own about 31 10mms in 17 different models.

I have a Kriss Vector in 10mm. Pre covid you could pick one up for under $1300. 2019-04-20_04-47-50.jpg

I guess more people are finding out that the g29 is basically the same size as a G19 with far more potential to actually “stop” a threat.

you can hunt deer with a 10mm and reliably drop them. Can’t say the same for any of the other popular carry rounds.
