Saw a dude with one of those just about dragging the ground.
I know they have "quick disconnects", but still.

I’ve heard of instances where Harley dudes kept burning out clutches and/or complaining about a lack of acceleration or power. Turns out those stupid whips hanging off your clutch lever can get heavy enough to slip your clutch a bit. :n00b: I’ve never understood their true purpose aside from broadcasting to everybody that you have more money than brains because you like to keep your local bike shop in business with clutch jobs, lol.

I'm trying to decide if this is a worthy project. I have a 1973 Yamaha RD350 all dressed with period cafe bars, rearsets, etc.
The engine is toast, the jugs are gone and were left for the mice to go into the crankcase rusting the crank and everything. The wheels are from a '74. It was once raced by a guy named Leon.

I can restore the frame, wiring, etc easily enough but the motor might make it too expensive in the end. Found an ebay motor unrestored for $950 or can get a fully restored running engine for $4500. More than the rest is worth, even restored.
These are real beasts when running good.

Next time you see somebody with one, why don't you man up and just ask them?
