I have a Ruger Max-9 that is optic ready with a shield pattern. I don't need all the bells and whistles of a high priced one but also know not to buy the cheapest. Middle of the road or best value type. INGO
knows all, please respond with your thoughts. Thanks, Rich.

Here is an article with info on red dot footprints. It includes a list of some of the red dots that use the Shield pattern.

I have not used them but the swamp fox sights have gotten some good reviews.

    Gotcha.

I will say this though. I put a 407k on my glock 19 mos with a chpws plate and it fits amazing. The optic is the exact width of the slide now. No overhang at all. And the ameriglo gl-329 co witness perfectly.

Have yet to take it to the range and put rounds thru it yet though
