OK INGO I am counting on you.
My good frind in Stalinois called me the other night and asked if I remember the old Mauser that his Grandfather brought home from WW1, and if I coudl tell him anything about it.
The story that I heard from his father when I first saw the gun was that his father was a doughboy in WW1 and in a sweep of a small town he found a case of these in a house.
He told his commanding officer who said take them to his quarters, but keep one for yourself. (or somthing to that effect).
The one thing I forgot when he sent me the pictures that it is nickle plated. I said that I don't ever remember seeing any that where plated.
He agreed and said his mother told him that his uncle had it before his father and that she remembers that he had something done to it by a gunsmith back inthe early 60's.
Below are some the pics he sent me cause I told him that I bet if i put them on INGO that someone could tell us something
