Friend was using his new metal detector at my folks place. Found a grenade at the base of an old tree. He took it to the local armory, they exchanged it for a dummy. Never knew for sure if the one he found was "live" or not.

I have heard about the guys at Newlon Metals and Mervis find knives, guns and money in cars / trucks being scrapped. I heard second hand after the fact. The bills were definitely old from the serial / mint number. Never saw the guns or knives but it was the same guys time after time.
