I have 10/22 Model 1150 with a 22" tapered barrel. I am looking for a stock to replace the factory stock. Never built a 10/22 so have no idea what stock to buy. Don't know who builds stocks for the 10/22. Builders what stocks for a taper barrel.

For what purpose? What features? Lightweight? adjustable comb/length of pull? Just "different"?

    Any preferences for materials?

I will be putting holes in paper and tree rat heads. Most shots 50 yards and under. Maybe 100 yards on a yote if it presents it but mot are around 25-30 yards.

They make stocks for tapered barrels, but I’d buy one for a bull barrel, cause at some point your going to want to change that too, you can always put the taper barrel in a stock cut for the bull barrel but not the other way around!

I bought a Blackhawk years ago.
The adjustable stock helped when I was letting Boy Scouts shoot it.
This way, different sized people, including myself, could shoot it.
    It has held up well.

I really like my MagPul X-22 polymer stock for my 10/22's...they are adjustable to different sized individuals and can be set up to use the OEM tapered Ruger barrel or can take an aftermarket 'bull' barrel. Boyd's, Hogue, Ruger, etc., stocks are good, but are not as adjustable to the individual as much as the MagPul is...

BARRELS: I prefer KIDD and KEYSTONE barrels for consistency...and am wanting to try a Ruger OEM Bull Barrel at some point?

Here is my first Ruger 10/22 set up with a grey MagPul X22 Hunter stock and a Keystone .920 barrel setup.

Pro mag archangel is a awesome stock for adjustability but not great for toting in the woods. For the woods I would use the stock stock if it is the polymer version for iron sights if not and using an optic id probably pick something like the magpul hunter for lightweight and a higher comb to account for the raised optic

I went with a hogue rubber molded stock for a bull barrel 10/22. It's a really nice hunting set up.

I also like the Magpul stock that pictured above.

Also want to re-iterate that a 22lr is probably very light for a coyote at 100 yards. I'd keep to racoon or smaller for a 22lr.

The hogue over molded is a very comfortable stock.

I have dropped a lot of yotes over the years with .22's out to 100 yards. My eyes and open sights not so good today. With a Zeiss 4-24 I can do it today but most times they are moving so need them at 45-50 yards to kill clean.

Kind of a terrible website, but I have one of these on mine actually. Although I believe they all are made for Heavy Barrels. There are probably more options for heavy barrels than the stock tapered barrel.

I believe this is a Fajen stock, but I'm not sure.
A friend acquired it and gave it to me. The stock ( and I assume the rifle) went through a garage fire and was heavily smoke and water damaged.
I sanded, and sanded, stripped, and sanded again. It took forever to eliminate the smoke smell, but it's good now.
