Been a gun owner for nearly 30 years and finally got my first Ruger 10/22 yesterday. I have been wanting one for the past couple of years but have been too cheap or lazy to go get one. I started looking again recently but they were hard to find or priced out of bounds. Yesterday, I went to Walmart in Valparaiso on my lunch break to pick a few groceries. I walked past the gun counter figuring it would be empty like usual but lo and behold, there it was. Better yet, it was Walmart priced at pre-pandemic levels. I have owned and shot a lot of really nice guns but I have to admit, I felt like a kid again and was more excited to walk out of the store with this one than any other gun I have purchased in the past.

    Nice. What model/caliber and age?

The top one is a Marlin 39M Octagon from 1973. That is the only year they made them. Only 2150 made. The bottom one is a Marlin 1897 Cowboy circa 2001? Marlin only made them for about 2 years 1999-2001 I believe? Both .22's.

Nothing special. Just a couple long guns. My Henry Big Boy .357, and an ATI 12 gauge single shot. I made the butt stock sleeve (with D-ring for sling), and fore stock sling D-ring sleeve, for my Henry, from the "leather" from an old office chair. The ATI I cut the barrel to 18.5", and added a clip on fiber optic front sight. The sling is just a strap from one of my old issue duffle bags, with the ACU med pouch serving as a nifty shell holder.

Newest project, a former basket case Swedish Mauser I found on GB.

    1. Boyd's Stock, with the disk put in it. Barrel is free floated.
    2. Barrel, cut to 18" and threaded, fitted with a Surefire flash suppressor.
    3. Timney single stage trigger with safety.
    4. Jeweled bolt.
    5. New bolt handle.
    6. Custom Picatinny rail. (Nobody makes one for small ring Mausers)
    7. Primary Arms 1x8 with ACSS set in Sig rings.
