My mother in law received this shotgun as a present from her father when she was 16. She is 92 now. I saw this for the first time tonight and had to get some pics. I thought some of you might appreciate this.

It sucks that my mother in law has a cooler gun than any I own.

That is so cool. I'm surprised it had internal hammers.
Old shotguns were built like tanks.

According to Wikipedia Lefever went out if business in 1916. They patented the hammerless shotgun in 1883 and patented the ejector system that cocked the gun when the breech was opened.

Beautiful shot gun, any name on it.. Ithica purchased the company and made some into the 1940s... Very expensive.. Very nice.

Model it is? I looked at nitro expresses but not too many out there for sale. Really looks like it is in good working shape. Have you shot it?

I have no idea of the model. It has not been shot in a long time. I think it would need a good going over by a gunsmith before anyone shoots it.

If it's a nutei express, they are all by all accounts tanks, but any other one, yeah, good call.

Definitely not a nitro special. The nitro specials are boxlock - Marvin02's is a side lock. I couldn't say which model sidelock, though.

Edit: Nice looking side-by-side, either way.
