I have a set of ivory grip panels on my 1911.
The one next to my body has turned a beautiful buttery yellow.
The off bod panel. Not so much.
Anyone have any idea on how to color/age the lighter panel?

I’ve heard it recommended to cost teh back side of ivory and stag grips annually with baby oil. It will help keep their natural oil levels and reduce shrinkage and chance of cracking.

I made a replacement fore end tip for an 1889 Remington shotgun years ago. I carved it out of a hunk of deer antler and scrimshawed my initials in it. It looked great but it was super white and stood out on a 130 year old shotgun. So, I soaked it in a cup of coffe for a couple of days. Not sure I’d want to go that extreme with an expensive set of ivory stocks, but maybe wipe the lighter grip down a couple times a day with a coffee or tea soaked rag and see how it looks after a few treatments?
