    Pretty much what the markets were expecting. We're in recession now and it's going to get worse, as provoking recession via rate hikes is the only way to tank demand and get prices to stop soaring.

    The real question is how bad things will be allowed to get before the Fed gets scared and turns on the free money again.

    Futures market fell on Monday, but I'm sure the results of this many market-ready beef taken out of the ystem will be seen at grocery stores in the near future.

    To put this in perspective, US beef cattle is estimated at around 30 million head. Doesn't mean that there won't be price games, of course. Never let a crisis go to waste.
