I suspect with beijing biden and legs in the air harris taking the helm this situation is not going to improve.
    Glad I reload....
Reloading is why I'm still shooting 9mm. Guy at work was telling me he just got a box of 9mm for $35. I thought that was bad but a $1 a round? If I get to the pint where my reloading supplies run thin I still won't pay that - I'll keep shooting rimfire.

It's been a month since I last checked ammoseek pricing seeing as my disposable income came to a screeching halt Dec 29th when my furlough from the railroad started. But good god 11cpr for 22lr to 30cpr and as majority stated 75cpr to over a dollar per round for common calibers. Even shotgun shells have doubled in a month.

I've always stocked up when I could after the Sandy Hook panic died down after my first firearm purchase in 2012, but don't recall seeing anything before 2012 in history like this. I honestly see this demand not dieing down for at least 4yrs. Then writing this is just beating the deadhorse that keeps floating around on this forum.

For many, 2021 competitor shooters will be picking carefully what matches they will shoot... (60,000 rds ave. year, others 120,000) now looking at 20,000 rds. and hoping sponsors can back-fill.

So glad ammo prices are through the moon. Just traded a few cases of 9mm, 5.56x45 and a case (5000 rounds) of .22LR for a 2017 Jaguar F-type!

We're at the point where a mediocre day at the range with a friend costs you more than an awesome night in a hotel with an escort.

    Bizzaro world, indeed.

Rate its going a person might be able to get "full service" for a box of FMJ 9mm. Tip the ladies at your friendly local adult establishment with a round of 5.56... Just stand it upright on the edge of the stage for no contact tipping.:@ya:

Anybody talking about cutting back on centerfire and instead shooting 22s hasn't looked at rimfire prices lately. $.33 for Remington Golden!?!? Bulk Federal $.36-38!?!? No thanks. If I'm spending that for junk ammo I'll go with the Lapua Midas+ for $.50.At least it will fire and most likely hit what i want it to hit.

Every pull of the reloading press lever is saving me money. Two years ago I heard here that reloading 9 mm was a waste of time. Now every round is saving me 50 cents each. Or more. Sure, I can't sell them, but I also don't have to buy any. Just made 100 this afternoon, and 400 last Saturday.

Exactly! Wasn’t long ago there were lots of posts about the “waste of my valuable time” making reloading unjustified. I can continue my shooting at the same level for a very long time. I typically go multiple times a month to the range. 500 rounds of .223 this week Added to the inventory.

Or, we learned a lesson from the last shortage and "bought it cheap and stacked it deep". (Kirk;) )
Yep , still have a fair amount of 22 put back I ordered after the last 22lr famine. And up until a few months ago I was able to find 22lr at pretty reasonable prices. Now not seeing it anywhere.

Or, we learned a lesson from the last shortage and "bought it cheap and stacked it deep".

Not gonna lie, I was shooting a LOT before the pandemic and got caught with my pants down on this one. I kept looking at the 5.56 @ $300, and was waiting for it to drop back to $289 shipped/1000. Boy, I misjudged that one.

Still have enough .22LR, but low on most everything else. This is a lot worse than the last one. I remember green tip at .60 a round, but $1 a round is insanity. It will price a large majority of us out of the hobby.

Ran through fifty rounds of .38 with a friend to celebrate his birthday. I never shoot my .38s but it makes me nervous to only have one box on hand. We could stand to get some good deals from people selling guns because they can't find ammo!

I had a pop-up ad from Gunbroker show up on my computer a little bit ago. Just for the fun of it I went to their site and checked out some of the listings for 9mm ammo. Attached is a snapshot of one offering. I’m not saying this is was the only price point, but the price per round was more common than not. Granted there didn’t seem to be a bid yet - but apparently the seller optimistic he may get a few customers. View attachment 121025
    Quantity 6...

One box of 500 for $600 or 6 boxes of 500 for $600?

Unless the seller is Rip Van Winkle and he just woke up from a 30 year nap, ain't no way it's six boxes of 500 priced at $100 a pop.

Side note: if people would stop buying up everything that pops up at these insane prices, supply would be able to catch back up (at least a little) and prices would start coming back down from orbit.
