That was the AR-556’s fault. Wait, the t-ban are now mostly carrying M16A4s and M4s. Waiting for someone to blame the AR platform for the t-ban being violent.
bwframe asked about recent islamist terrorism IN the US.

When the taliban captured kabul a CNN "reporter" said "They're chanting 'death to U.S.' but they seem friendly enough" so you KNOW they won't blame the taliban for making any of their guns evil--not even the soviet ones.

Though it could be that we have a more forceful and confident leader. Now they they see weakness in the white house, the gloves are probably going to come off.

And they'll likely ramp up if Kamala ends up in the big boy chair. Not only is she weak an ineffectual, she is *gasp* a woman! Not even fit to enter the building in their eyes, let alone rule a country.
    Yeah, sadly, I agree.

Maybe. Attacking there is much easier than attacking here. As far as the equipment we abandoned, while true and maddening I'm much more concerned with the conventional explosives then "high tech" stuff. They aren't going to suddenly start fighting like us, they will continue to fight like them. My wife (who as most of you know is native to the ME and lived in Kuwait when Iraq invaded) is quite worried both for us here and for her family in Jordan. Qatar seems like kind of a Switzerland of the ME, so maybe less so for the family still there.

I would point out 9/11 was done with boxcutters and a small slice of flight school. Obviously that sort of attack isn't going to work again, the days of "cooperate with hijackers because they won't hurt you" are long gone. Who knows what sort of "out of the box" attack is out there being cooked up. Hopefully our intel and intercept capabilities remain good, particularly for overseas targets of interest. I'd be much more worried about an overseas embassy or port facility than a homeland attack, but either is a non-zero possibility.
9 million rounds of 50 caliber ammo and 20,150,000+ of 7.62x51.......can you say "fight like them party???"

One can live in an idealistic bubble or one can play to win.

    Did I just channel Bug?
In the time it took you to type your little philosophical meandering, your boy Biden and his crew of woke idiots probably did 3 things that are ( yet another) National embarrassment. All because mean ol’ Trump hurt your feelings.

Has it ever really gone away?
No...but under Trump, and his handling of ISIS-JV and other terrorist threats, the threat(s) were reduced or went into hiding, simply due to his willingness to stand up against it and go after it if when it reared it's ugly head! Trump was a force to be reckoned with...Biden is not!
The human animal (aka, people) will often do what's allowed or what they believe they can get away with....and that factor shows up in the education process, in the work place, in public places, and with terrorism!

Those assets will only allow the taliban to secure control over afghanistan. They can't even use the aircraft unless the pakistanis arrange a flight school for them.

bidet's Mexican border disaster is a bigger threat in terms of terrorist attacks here
True but I'll bet someone would trade a bunch of that stuff for some shoulder fires SAM's. It's not so much a case of them using what they have, but trading for what they can use.
