What's needed IMHO, is emergency paramedic personnel available when you get there, and see what it will cost you to take your three grandsons on a day trip there.

Welp, I guess I should have checked this thread before spending the day there.
I was there yesterday. It was nice. Not much for crowds. Pretty sure there were at least a couple guests carrying. Security only needs to see your ticket and an ID is needed if it’s an annual pass.

Genuinely speaking, can we all reach out to our state district reps and request that they make a bill to eliminate the gun free zones in our state? We got constitutional carry to pass this year, we have the votes in both house/senate. We shouldn’t have to play a guessing game on where we can/can’t carry when our safety is at hand. I’ll work on a copy and paste write up for us all to use.

Well, as usual, they have updated that site. USED to tell you a lot of info about the "child care provider", including its license type and status. Makes ALL the difference, according to IC.

Now, it just gives you the name, address, and phone. Kinda worthless.

I will try to find a better resource.

EDIT: It doesn't show information for the Children's Museum any longer. It still shows all info for other child care facilities. From what I can tell, the preschool at the Museum has CLOSED. Looking for confirmation....

    EDIT 2: Confirmed.

Patchen said the museum is on track to lose between $4 million and $7 million as a result of COVID-19, so efforts have to go toward making the exhibits more resistant to the virus.
So...are they going to put masks on the exhibits?....asking for a friend......Last time I was there, was when they had the Gus Grissom Mercury capsule exhibit........As an aside, got into a confrontation with a guy in the parking garage, due to his douchebaggery of blocking the way for 5 minutes waiting on a parking spot....I was carrying then, not knowing there was a school......(it's been more than 7 years since this incident) YMMV...

My beat partner and great buddy works security there off duty (been thinking about doing it myself).

Security there is a pretty well run crew. Over 300 cameras constantly being monitored in a pretty nice "control room". Not an inch of that place isn't on video. All security have their own radio channel and there are sworn LEOs paid off duty to work in uniform on site that have the radio channel as well. LEOs usually are patrolling the exterior, and also monitor the MND radio of the surrounding neighborhoods. In terms of safety, it's probably one of the safest places to go in the city. You will not find a quicker police response anywhere.

If you are caught carrying though, you will be escorted out (I know, not my rules). I'd advise not making a scene or you'll likely be trespassed too. The head security guy is a nice guy, but takes no :poop:. Being polite gets you a long ways.

If you're off duty LEO visiting with family, be sure to check in with security and they will give you a brief safety "plan" so everyone is on the same page if something were to happen.

    Great info, thank you.
