Watched a few vids today, made me wonder if getting the 22 mag upper would be a good choice to train with the AR but not have to pay the price of 556 amo. I know it would take a lot of savings on amo to makeup the $350 price of the upper.

I'd suggest a LR upper instead. Cheaper/easier to find ammo, and more reliable. (WMR is VERY finicky in auto guns)
