I am sure we will see a lot more of this come July 1st.
I'm not convinced. We're not the first constitutional carry state and the others haven't turned into the wild wild west yet...
Some feel that FMJ Is good enough. I Dont either but. Its a starting point.
You are not wrong. I am as guilty of it myself as any. I first started carrying when I was on the police department. At this point in my life I had been in the military I had worked in a maximum security prison and I had then went through the police academy. I thought I was a stud who knew it all. I was a fairly good shot in comparison to other police officers but as compared to a good shooter nowadays I was not that great. My very first ever concealed carry was a walk around the neighborhood with a Ruger SR22 in my coat pocket, no holster, with the safety on and an empty chamber.
We were all dumb once...
That's a vibe.At the time during the summer I would appendix carry a browning high power and during the winter I would use a Miami classic shoulder rig to carry a Glock 23 or a Smith & Wesson 4006,
Other than hardware concerns, which are myriad, just think about the overwhelming majority who have never sought out any kind of formal training what-so-ever; be it basic gun-handling/marksmanship/accuracy or any kind of self-defensive training. THAT's also the category that the majority of INGOers fall into, too.
It’s actually deeper than that. There are many who THINK they are skilled but yet too scared to be put to the test of an eval. Consider that. Seems like they would want to know?Other than hardware concerns, which are myriad, just think about the overwhelming majority who have never sought out any kind of formal training what-so-ever; be it basic gun-handling/marksmanship/accuracy or any kind of self-defensive training. "I grew up around guns". "I was in the Army". "My dad was in the military and he taught me". "My grandpa was a policeman, he taught me.".
It's damned scary.
Sorry, folks. But just growing up around guns doesn't cut it. Sorry, folks, but being in the armed forces (outside of a few select jobs) doesn't cut it. Having a family member in the armed forces doesn't really cut it. Having a family member in law enforcement doesn't really cut it.
Where ignorance abounds, wisdom is often scoffed at.
Maybe that silly assed mayor of Zionsville also? Possibly even coordinate with their news crew pals?
It's a darn shame that there is no mechanism in the town charter to impeach a mayor. She'd be gone in a minute if voters got a "do over"...

I though all men were born knowing how to drive, screw and shoot?
I distinctly remember an ad on INGO a couple of years ago. "Carried but only shot once, by accident, beings it's a Glock" Alluding to the widely held opinion that Glocks do discharge when and where they please without assistance. Typical sentiment for many that carry a pistol that pretty much says it all.I'd say the majority of gun owners, not just INGO members. There are way too many that buy a gun, load it up and put it on their hip who take no training, no advice and who don't even take the gun to the range. I can't tell you how many classified ads include "has been carried, but never fired"...
At the same time would be quite impressive.I though all men were born knowing how to drive, screw and shoot?
Challenge accepted! At the same time would be quite impressive.
